small update

I have some pics to upload from the Memorial Day parade, hopefully tonight or tomorrow. Jeff carried him in the Baby Bjorn and both did well. AJ was non-committal on the parade, neither loving it nor hating it, and he fell asleep on the way home.

Also, got so nice pics of tummy time last night - AJ can hold his head up over 45 degrees while on his tummy. And he rolled over on to his back, sort of. He was on the daybed which isn't level, especially with me sitting next to him, so he had a little help from the incline. But he is getting close to being able to legitimately roll over - yay!

We gave him some rice cereal last night. He didn't seem as enthused about it as the applesauce, but he ate a few spoonfuls. He's chewing his fingers a lot, trying to chew any toy within reach, and chewed for a minute or two on the teething ring. He looked a little surprised by the coldness of it when he first took it.

We put him in his Activity Center too last night. He is still a little too small for it, but he loved it. He immediately started pressing buttons and reaching for the toys. I can't wait until he's a little bigger and we can let him play in there.

More Gardening

Here are a few more pics of AJ in his hat, outside helping his dad. I was really surprised that he did not seem to mind the hat. He hasn't really been a fan of hats in the past.

I'll help, Dad!

Nanna and Mom took a little trip to the nursery for a tree today. When we got back, Dad was working on edging the lawn and AJ was working right there beside him!




Of course, first Dad had to tell him what edging was and then he was all for it. He thought helping Dad was a lot of fun.

difficult night

AJ was rather unhappy last night. he woke up about an hour after being put in bed, extremely unhappy. he screamed for 15 to 20 minutes. i'm sure the whole neighborhood could here it. we stood in front of the fan for a while - i thought maybe it was just because it was hot. that helped a little. i think the other problem is that he is not tolerating the formula as well as he did at first.

so eventually he calmed down, but he was wide awake. play time! so we went back downstairs for a little bit. daddy held him and played with him and that worked for a little bit. then he became very upset again. hungry.

hungry! he had 7 bottles yesterday - what a piggy! and what a deposit in the diaper this morning, after he was buckled in to the car seat, on the way out the door. sorry Carol!

so hopefully we will try out some solids this weekend. wish us luck!

New Seat

Well, an old seat really, but still new to AJ...
so we put him in his Bumbo seat last night and he seemed to really like it. He can sit up and it supports him. We took pictures but I forgot to bring the camera with me today. I will post them tonight. This brings us one step closer to solids!

Nanna Time

Had another wonderful visit with AJ last night. He is getting so good at playing that you'd think it was his full time job!

He kept searching for his thumb and he finally found it...it made him very happy.

Nothing much better than a playing, happy child.

Third time's a charm

So 3 nights in a row makes it official, right? AJ is now going to bed between 9pm and 10pm and sleeping until 6am. Like magic. Still freaks me out a little, and I still get up to check on him, but hopefully things will only get better. Now if only Jeff and I could get to bed that early too...

The Great-Grandma Sweater
